'How
to Straighten Bent Cranks Arms'
If
your chopper has a Bent crank arm chances are it has fallen over
at some stage.
This
results in the Arm being pushed in towards the frame and
catching on the rear frame drop out arm or the chain guard
during the revolution of the pedal crank.
The
following information shows how to pull the bent arm back into
its correct position.
Firstly
remove the pedal from the arm to be straightened
and
move the arm into the position shown in the picture below
***********************************
Cover
the Crank arm with a piece of cloth for protection
*********************************
Now
slide a length of tube over the crank arm protected with the
cloth
*******************************
Now
grasp the Chopper frame down tube and pull the tube on the crank
arm gently away from the frame. This must be done a little bit
at a time, removing the tube on the crank arm to inspect the new
position of the crank arm. When the crank arm is parallel to the
chopper frame the tube on the crank and cloth can be removed and
the pedal replaced.
*******************************
And
there you have it!

comments greatly received.
