                                           Finding a rear wheel was not easy.

The next job was to find a rear wheel. One became available locally but the hub date was 1971. This was a shame because although the hub was in excellent condition a 1971 hub was to early for a MK2 Fizzy Lemon Chopper. After sending out various requests and making lots of phone calls, a relative phoned to say she had a friend with one near St Albans. So off I went to collect it. The Hub turned out to be a 1975 in perfect condition but under 26 years of grease and dirt.

 

Once home the wheel was striped and degreased. Once all the existing components were placed back in the hub, the outer casing was polished to as new condition.

All the other components i.e.. rear sprocket, shims and circlip were also highly polished and put away until they were required.
